From CAD to ECAD and beyond: EPLAN software for smart schematics creation
ECSI 0123 - Level 0

EPLAN: More than electrical CAD
The most powerful software for electrical design

The EPLAN Certified Systems Integrator Program - ECSI 0123

EPLAN Canada supports its partners in their journey towards efficiency. Our certification program ECSI 0123 has 4 Levels, each with their own set of milestones representing the different ways the EPLAN Platform benefits your operations and help you increase productivity, reduce time to market and better predict profitability. The journey starts with understanding the Rittal-EPLAN Value Chain.

Rittal and EPLAN use combined software solutions, system technology and machinery for automation. With their combined know-how and perfectly coordinated solutions, you can optimize your entire panel building processes – from engineering, sourcing and manufacturing through to operations. It is a complete journey and we are here to assist you every step of the way.

Are you ready to follow the Path to Efficiency?

Let’s take this journey together!

ECSI Level 0

EPLAN Starting Integrator

Basic Functions

The company has installed EPLAN and has been trained to understands how take advantage of the basic functions within EPLAN such as the creation fo schematics, the usage of device tags and cross-references, the automatic generation of the bill of material, EPLAN eVIEW and more.

EPLAN is a more than a CAD, it is a Computer-aided Engineering software (CAE). the EPLAN Platform includes many practical functions you can use to simplify your everyday work for creating schematics and producing panels. Level 0 of the ECSI 0123 program opens your eyes and broadens your horizon towards what is eventually possible through EPLAN.

From CAD to EPLAN: Smart schematic generation made easy

With the right type of ECAD software, this is a no-stress situation. It is true that your average computer-aided design (CAD) software can be used for a wide variety of technical designs. However, ECAD software is better for electrical engineering. EPLAN takes you even a step further, with many practical functions you can use to simplify your everyday work for creating schematics and beyond.

Benefits in Engineering

The company understand the way EPLAN works and understand the basic structure of an EPLAN Project. EPLAN manages automatically many features that need to be done manually when you are not using EPLAN.

This allows to significantly reduce your engineering time, out-of-the-box:

  • Time spent creating device tags drops from 8% to < 1%
  • Time spent managing cross references drops from 8% to < 1%
  • Time spent numbering wires and cables drops from 8% to < 1%
  • Time spent building a bill of material drops from 16% to 4%

Total savings 36%

Benefits in Manufacturing

With Level 0, there are no substantial gains for manufacturing, since EPLAN is used by the Engineering team and the designers.
